Special Education Law and Advocacy (SELA) is a law firm dedicated to the representation of young people with disabilities in public education. Founded and led by Mark S. Kamleiter, Esquire, Board Certified in Education Law, this firm works throughout Florida to assure that young people with disabilities receive that appropriate and effective education that they have a right to recieve. This representation is provided at the school level (IEP, Behavior, and other meetings), state complaints, due process (both IDEA and 504), as well as in the federal courts.
Presently SELA is made up of three attorneys and five trained educational advocates, a paralegal, and our CFO/manager and the firm is growing very fast. We have found that a mix of legal and advocacy services allows the client to have the highest level of legal attention, input and service, while realizing cost efficiency by having trained and experienced educational advocates handle the elements of the representation that are within their expertise. We feel that our advocates and attorneys work together to provide seamless and effective services.
